SnipIT is a Windows 7 tool that eases copying and pasting text between emails and Web sources.
SnipIT is a small, highly focused program with one job: make it easier to distribute copied text between your emails and other sources, including webpages, social media and so forth. Not everyone will need a tool like this, but if your daily computer use involves a lot of back and forth between emails and other text, then this can be an invaluable tool that eases the work you do.
One scenario in which it’s particularly helpful is pasting the same text across many different emails. Let’s say you have a branded message that you need to distribute via email, Twitter and Facebook. Grab it with SnipIT, and now you have it persisted in a way that makes it easy to paste it over and again. Sure, there are other ways to do this, but this approach makes it streamlined and fast.
An aspect that makes SnipIT so useful is its smart features. It can often sense what you’re trying to do based on context and present itself in a way that makes that easier. If you need to build an email from a number of different sources, SnipIT can help with that as well, and it can do it without you have to going back and forth between the various applications.
There are some issues with SnipIT. This is a Microsoft tool that the company has apparently abandoned. It only works with Windows 7, and Windows 10 support doesn’t seem likely. In addition, this is based on a mobile version that is still supported and has features this one inexplicably doesn’t.
- Paste copied text to emails
- Maintain copied text between emails
- Lacks features and support mobile version has
